Norland Managed Services claims to retain 94% of its customers by allowing them to concentrate on their core businesses while it looks after their buildings. The company, which began life in 1984 as Reliance Environmental Services, now has more than 2,000 staff at offices around Britain and Ireland. These offer everything from electrical and mechanical maintenance to services such as catering, cleaning and landscaping. With its big national and international customers including O2, the National Gallery, Morgan Stanley and Bloomberg, Norland’s sales reached £250.7m in 2011, overseen by chief executive Ian Entwisle.
