Northgate Information Solutions operates in 46 countries across five continents, providing specialist software, outsourcing and IT services to the human resources, local government, education and public safety markets. It says it works with four out of five local authorities and all of the British regional police forces. Its technology is used in electoral administration, education, criminal justice, and revenue and benefit administration. The company was delisted in March this year by private equity firm KKR for a reported £597m. Under chief executive Chris Stone, 2007 sales were £351.7m. In June 2007, Northgate acquired Arinso International, which contributed sales of £155.9m during financial year 2008.
