OCS has come a long way since it was established by Fred Goodliffe in 1900 as a window and general cleaning company. The London firm now claims to be the largest privately-owned property services company in Britain, cleaning 150m sq ft of office space each day. Jim Goodliffe, a fourth-generation member of the family, is chairman, looking after interests as diverse as catering, security, hygiene, laundry services, stocktaking and aviation support. The company generated sales of £428m in 2002, when it employed 43,804 people.
