While travelling down the coast of Brazil using kite buggies, co-founders and brothers Charlie Thuillier, 30, and Harry Thuillier, 33, foraged for wild fruit and coconuts and were inspired to use them as ingredients. They founded Oppo Ice Cream in 2013, selling healthy ice cream and cheesecakes, made with natural ingredients and low in fat, sugar and calories. The company says 75% of its revenue is from overseas sales and that its products are now in more than 3,000 stores across twelve European countries. An appearance on Dragons’ Den in 2016 didn’t lead to investment but the company says it has helped revenues grow to £5.2m in the year to March 2019.
