This Moray-based firm plans to launch its small satellite rocket in 2021 from a spaceport being developed in Sutherland. It says its rocket will be fuelled by liquid bio-propane, never before used on a commercial rocket engine, helping to cut carbon emissions by 90%. Founded in 2015 by chief executive Chris Larmour, 52, and chief development officer Kristian Von Bengtson, 45, it also claims its rocket will be 30% lighter and 20% more efficient than other small satellite launchers. Its team of about 55 employees are based across its design facility in Denmark and its production facility in Scotland, and previously developed more than 50 rocket engines, and equipment flown on over 50 deep space missions. It has raised £34m from investors including the UK Space Agency, the European Space Agency, and the European Commission Horizon 2020 programme.
