This Merseyside company collects waste oil and uses its own refinery to recycle it into fuel oils, which it then sells. The business was created in 2000 when OSS acquired a business rival, Greenway Holdings, in a £15m deal backed by Dunedin Capital Partners. The company also offers services such as hazardous-waste collection and site cleaning, and sells industrial parts-washers that recycle their own solvents in built-in mini-refineries. Under Andrew McNair, managing director, profits have risen 72% a year from £1.2m in 2005 to £6.2m in 2008.
