Chief executive Stephen Fitzpatrick, 38, started energy supplier Ovo in 2009 to compete with Britain’s “big six”. Initially supplying households, it now offers energy to businesses as well. Sales almost doubled to £339m last year, when Generation Investment Management, a fund founded by former American Vice- President Al Gore, invested £8m. After research closed it was reported Ovo made a pre-tax loss of £37m.
