School friends and Oxford graduates Harry Hortyn and Rob Phipps, both 33, founded this residential tuition business in 2010. Starting with a few lessons in Oriel College, it now operates from 14 Oxford colleges, and also in Cambridge, London, Stanford University in America, and in Bangalore and Singapore. Students complete an intensive course over a two-week period, with the most popular topics being business, medicine, psychology and law. About 90% of the company’s revenue is generated by students from more than 110 countries, helping sales to grow to £9.3m in 2019.
