Launched in 2001, Packet Exchange offers high-speed internet services over a private network. This enables the company to provide a highly secure and reliable service to its 800 business customers. In November 2004, the firm raised £1.6m from Halifax Bank of Scotland, which helped fund an acquisition to expand in Europe. Founders Kieron O’Brien and Jason Velody have also been busy in America, opening a subsidiary there to extend the firm’s product range. Sales at the London company have soared 133% a year from £1m in 2003 to £5.7m in 2005.
