This app developer started life in 2006 as a rival to WhatsApp and SnapChat after founder Martin Rosinski, then 21, developed an instant messaging tool for his father’s engineering company. It has since found a successful niche as an online meeting place and platform for keen gamers. Led by chief executive Tim Rea, 48, it has grown through the acquisition of gaming developers, with sales reaching £8.4m in 2014.
