Dunelm, Bosch and Silentnight all rely on Panther to deliver their products to customers. Headquartered in Northampton and led by managing director Colin McCarthy, 53, the company specialises in next-day home delivery services using one-man or two-man teams. In November it added a seventh regional depot to its network, with a 25,000 sq ft facility in Bristol — part of a £3m investment to increase sales to £100m over the next five years. Founded in 1989 by chairman Wilson Barrett, 62, in his spare bedroom, the company pushed up its sales to £20.1m last year, helped by an acquisition and new contracts.
