Ata Shobiery founded Paradise Computers in his garden shed in 1990. The Hertfordshire company supplies hardware, software and support services to clients such as the British Red Cross and P&O. Sales have grown 107% a year from £2.6m in 1997 to £23m in 2000, when it had 43 staff. Claiming to exploit a niche left by big suppliers such as Computacenter, Shobiery offers customers fast delivery and support services. If a customer is in difficulty, the company guarantees that one of its engineers will arrive within three hours.
