With more than 1,800 acres of prime coastal property, Park Resorts runs caravan sites at 35 seaside locations around Britain. It has 18,500 pitches and most of them are occupied by customers’ own caravans, but the Hemel Hempstead firm also sells the vehicles. Last winter it spent £18m upgrading 19 sites acquired in 2004. Park Resorts is now owned by GI Partners, which paid £440m for the business earlier this year and appointed Martin Grant as the new chief executive. The company’s sales were £152.6m in 2006.
