This Edinburgh company’s range of 80 ready meals is designed to be delivered for the UK’s growing elderly population, and can be cupboard-stored for six months. It sells almost 1m ready meals a month to about 385,000 customers, and sales reached an annualised £8.2m last year. It was founded in 2017 by husband-and-wife team Gordon and Adrienne MacAulay, 53 and 52, respectively. It has been run since this year by chief executive Kevin Dorren, 52, an experienced direct-to-consumer food retailer who founded food delivery service and Fast Track 100 alumnus Diet Chef. Last year, Parsley Box raised a total of £4.6m, including £3m in April from Mobeus Equity Partners and the rest from private investors in October.
