Partnerships in Care provides mental-health care and rehabilitation services for people with brain injuries, personality disorders and learning disabilities. It operates 22 care facilities across England and South Wales, with services ranging from secure accommodation to anger-management therapy. Private-equity house Cinven won a bidding war for the company in 2005 against rivals that included Terra Firma and Candover, paying £552m for the business. Sales were an annualised £154m in 2005 under chief executive Fred Sinclair-Brown.
