It deals with personality disorders, learning disabilities and brain injuries, and has a dedicated rehabilitation service. The firm operates 23 hospitals across Britain and also provides care facilities within the community. The private equity house Cinven won a bidding war for the business in 2005, paying £552m. Under the stewardship of chief executive Fred Sinclair-Brown, the company’s sales reached £187.9m in 2009.
