It deals with personality disorders and learning disabilities, and claims its rehabilitation service delivers sustained improvements to the lives of 70% of its brain-injury patients. The firm operates 23 hospitals across Britain and also provides care within the community. The private-equity house Cinven won a bidding war for the business in 2005, paying £552m. Under the stewardship of chief executive Fred Sinclair-Brown, the company’s sales reached £187.9m in 2009.
