In anticipation of a worsening economic climate, this pension insurer moved its credit portfolio into more secure assets in 2019. Since January, it has raised more than £1bn in capital to meet demand for new business. Led by chief executive Tracy Blackwell, 52, it insures UK defined-benefit pension schemes for companies such as Rentokil and Marks & Spencer — a total of more than 225,000 policyholders. It has been ranked on a gross profit of £2bn in 2019, when gross written premiums were £7.2bn.
