Founders Jed Moore, 39, and Matt Selby, 38, met at nursery school in 1984. Three decades later, they and university friend Gary Davidson, 34, combined their skill sets in management, marketing and communications to start Performance 54 which markets golf events. The same year, 2015, they signed as partner the YouTuber Rick Shiels, who has gone on to become one of the most subscribed YouTube golf broadcasters in the world and continues to represent the company. The Surrey-based firm reported sales of £6.2m in 2019, with 70% of revenue coming from overseas clients, mainly in the Middle East, Asia-Pacific, Spain and Portugal. Future plans involve expansion in Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi, and branching out into other sports.
