Perkins Foods

Perkins makes convenience food, including ready-meals and cooked meats, and says it runs Britain’s largest egg boiling plant. It had sales of £382m in 2003, when it made an operating loss of £4m. The company, which was taken private by the Dutch bank ABN Amro in 1990 after 10 years on the London Stock Exchange, has announced that it intends to sell its chilled-food division. Other recent divestments mean that sales are expected to fall.
