It is 50 years since Pertemps was set up by Constance Watts, initially in a small rented office in Birmingham. The recruitment business has now grown to more than 100 branches, from Dundee to the Isle of Wight, and is chaired by the founder’s son, Tim. Pertemps claims to have more than 20,000 workers out on placements each week and says that a d of FTSE 100 companies use its services to hire temporary staff. Sales at the Warwickshire company increased by 24% to £286m in 2010.
