This car dealership was founded in 2006 by chief executive Peter Vardy, 35, and his father, chairman Sir Peter Vardy, after they sold the family firm Reg Vardy to Pendragon for £506m. Following acquisitions in Aberdeen, the Glasgow-headquartered dealership now has ten centres specialising in BMW, Jaguar, Land Rover, Porsche, Mini, Vauxhall and commercial vans. Profits increased from £0.8m to £5.9m in 2012.
