Kevin Kane, 46, chief executive, used a loan that he had taken out for a loft conversion to set up this statistical consultancy to the pharmaceutical industry. Its team of statisticians and programmers works primarily on clinical trials for new medicines, as well as providing consultancy to some of the world’s largest pharmaceuticals companies. Having grown sales to £5.1m this year, the company plans to open an office in America, expand into the public sector and raise its headcount from 73 to 200 staff within the next three years.
