Picsel’s technology transforms mobile phones into mini personal computers. Its software allows files to be viewed and manipulated on handheld devices, such as mobile phones and games consoles. The technology supports a range of digital formats, including Microsoft Office, web pages and video streams. Founded by Imran Khand and Majid Anwar in 1998, the Glasgow firm sells to electronics giants such as Sony, Samsung and Motorola. Sales have rocketed 100% a year from £3.2m in 2003 to £13m in 2005.
