Companies including Aviva, B&Q and ITV use Portman Travel to plan and book flights, accommodation and meeting venues. Clients can opt for services such as text message updates on travel schedules, and offset their carbon emissions through renewable energy projects. The company is also a founding shareholder of Radius—a network of 5,300 travel agencies across 80 countries. Vision Capital bought a majority stake in Portman from Bridgepoint Capital for an undisclosed sum in 2006. Sales slowed in the last quarter of 2008, but still hit £351.1m for the year.
