Cambridge-based Prowler.io aims to use AI to speed up and improve decision-making in industries ranging from education to logistics. It says that its AI has built-in awareness of its own limitations, handing over to human interaction when necessary, and has around 115 employees across its offices in Cambridge and Singapore. The company was founded in 2016 by Vishal Chatrath, 47 – a serial entrepreneur who worked at VocalIQ and helped sell the firm to Apple in 2015 – and Dongho Kim, 39. It raised $34m in a series B fundraising round in May – which included Tencent among the investors, and saw the company valued at $100m – bringing the total it has raised to $50m.
