Twenty years ago, production companies made advertisements and other content for just a handful of television channels. Now, with the growth of web-based content and with hundreds of broadcast channels, companies have to think more about how to reach their audience. Thomas Benski, 32, and Marisa Cliffords, 33, founded Pulse Films as an integrated production company that makes and distributes videos for advertising, musical artists, television and feature films. The company is based in London and has offices in Paris, New York and Los Angeles. Pulse Films generates 30% of its sales in America and sees the country as its fastest-growing market. In October, film producer Sharon Harel invested £2.3m for a 20% stake in the company. She and her husband, Sir Ronald Cohen, the venture capitalist, will join Pulse’s advisory board.
