Britain’s over-55s can convert the equity in their homes into cash thanks to lifetime mortgages offered by this firm. The Yorkshire broker says it helps customers, who must be 60 or over, free up funds for retirement. Serial entrepreneur Andrew Thirkill, 60, founded Pure Retirement in 2013, with business associate Tim Loy, 54, appointing Paul Carter, 57, as chief executive. Profits rose to £8.5m in 2017 following rapid growth in the equity release market. Its operating margin of 40% is one of the highest on the league table.
