Ramesys develops and supplies business and financial software for customers in a range of sectors, including construction, education, retail and travel. Its clients include Asda, Best Western and Carillion. Ramesys was founded in 1999 when management bought the firm from Misys in a £29m deal. The deal was backed by Kleinwort Benson Capital, Albany Ventures and BancBoston. Since then, the company has made three acquisitions, boosting profits 46% a year from £2.5m in 2001 to £7.8m in 2004. The figures do not include amortisation of acquisitions.
