Maintaining a steady flow of new shows is tough for independent television companies. But London-based RDF Media appears to have come up trumps this year with its reality TV show Perfect Match and the drama Ella And The Mothers. Founded by David Frank in 1993, RDF started out making business programmes and now has a range of award-winning shows including the hits Faking It and Scrapheap Challenge. An office in Los Angeles and an overseas distribution company have helped sales rise 82% a year from £3.3m in 1998 to £19.7m in 2001, when RDF had 140 staff.
