Tech Track 100

Appalled by the quality of some websites, chartered accountant Margaret Manning and IT expert Simon Usher created Reading Room to help organisations communicate more effectively online. Founded in 1996, the London firm says it has designed more than 800 websites for clients such as the British Library and Cancer Research UK. In April 2005, it raised £1m from Octopus Asset Management to fund overseas expansion. Sales have risen 76% a year from an annualised £2.3m in 2005 to £7.2m in 2007.
