Real Wrap sandwiches debuted in university cafes as a healthy late-night alternative to kebabs and chips. Founded in 2012 by childhood friends Jason Howell, 32, and Phillippe Gill, 29, it has supplied sandwiches, wraps and hot food-to-go to clients ranging from airlines to Premier League football clubs, but most of its revenue comes from contracts with schools, universities and hospitals. Last year it secured a contract to stock council premises, healthcare facilities and public buildings across Wales, with sales growing to £7.1m in the year to March 2018. The Bristol firm says its success has been helped by a diverse offering that includes 12 vegetarian and nine vegan options.
