Being made redundant by the telecoms firm Alcatel provided Mark Bruce and a colleague with the opportunity to go it alone and set up their own telecoms company. Half of Redbridge’s business comes from integrating and maintaining telecoms equipment, and the other half comes from reselling Alcatel products. Bruce bought out his original partner in 2003 and now owns the Chepstow company outright. Its sales have grown 73% a year from £2m in 2003 to £10.5m in 2006.
