Paul Cook knows how to raise his profile – he was photographed naked on a golf driving range for Cosmopolitan magazine to create publicity for RedEye, the London company he founded in 1997. RedEye’s software helps to identify and analyse individual customers on a website. Businesses use the information to make their websites easier to use, and to personalise the e-mail they send to customers. RedEye’s sales grew 138% a year from £208,000 in 2000 to £1.2m in 2002.
