Formerly a traditional travel company, Redfern Travel was bought by Ian Wotton, Allan Webster and Anthony Shawe in 1999 and it has since been modernised and developed into a niche business. The business now focuses exclusively on the corporate travel market and has developed an automated online booking system that reduces costs for firms by suggesting time and money-saving trips. The Bradford-based company also recommends energy saving trips to boost clients’ green credentials. Winning contracts with government departments has contributed to sales growth of 52% a year, from £8.9m in 2006 to £31.4m in 2009.
