Formerly part of the Sir Robert McAlpine group, RES develops, constructs and operates renewable energy projects worldwide, specialising in wind, solar power, energy storage and electrical transmission. Last year turnover shrank 17% to £759m because of lower volumes of turbine procurement and construction work, but this was offset by growing demand for the company’s energy storage expertise. The firm has its headquarters in Hertfordshire and is led by chief executive Ivor Catto, 50.
