Beauty products retailer Joint chief executives Adam Minto, 49, and Tom Allsworth, 53, launched their first Makeup Revolution product in 2014. The serial entrepreneurs initially established the business as online only, but the products proved so successful that within six months they had been picked up by Superdrug. The Kent firm sells its cosmetics at affordable prices — lipstick starts at £1 — and has built its brand through innovative social media marketing. Profits hit £11.5m in 2017, the same year that US private equity firm TSG Consumer Partners took a minority stake. Revolution says it launches a new product every week, all of which are certified cruelty-free.
