Founded in Cambridge in 1911 as a timber merchant, Ridgeons opened a flagship store in the city in April, with its products now ranging from screws and drills to flooring timber and bathroom fittings. The business also includes PlumbStock, Ridgeons Forest Products, as well as Anglia Tool Centre, where record sales growth of more than 50% helped group profits rise 35% to £6.7m in 2017. Led by chief executive Ian Northen, 43, it serves customers at 42 locations across the east of England and beyond.
