This West London logistics company helps importers bringing goods into Britain from China, India and America with transport, tracking and advice on customs duty. RIF Worldwide’s customers include Sir Alan Sugar’s Viglen, which uses it to ship computers, and lifestyle clothing company O’Neill. Unlike many of its competitors, it uses aircraft and ships equally to move freight, rather than specialising in just one. Co-founders Scott Sully and Sean Fox, who were colleagues at another logistics business, set up the company in 2002. Sales have grown 88% a year from an annualised £1m in 2003 to £6.7m in 2006, on the back of expanded operations and new customers attracted by its Express Freight China service.
