Richard Robinson founded this car dealer in Norwich in 1927. It acquired a Volkswagen franchise in 1957, followed by Mercedes-Benz and Audi in the 1960s. Seat, Skoda and Smart outlets were added in recent years and Robinsons also sells commercial and camper vans. In addition to its 16 dealerships across East Anglia, the company has an online shop enabling car enthusiasts to buy everything from Mercedes racing bikes to Smart ice trays. Under chief executive Martin Wallace, sales reached £165.7m in 2010.
