Roc Technologies was founded in 2011 by Steve Shirley, 52. Growth came at first through the supplying of services to former customers of 2e2, the IT provider where Shirley had previously worked. In 2013 he brought in three former colleagues, Mike Hockey, 44, Sam Simpson, 41, and Matt Franklin, 46, as equal partners. The Newbury firm now provides IT services for clients including Tesco, BAE Systems and the Ministry of Defence. Sales reached £15.8m in 2016.
