Music industry veterans John Gray and Jan Biddle founded Rolled Gold International in 1996, naming the Slough company after an album by their favourite band, the Rolling Stones. The company distributes popular CDs and DVDs, from top 10 hits to 1960s classics. By buying discs cheaply on the Continent it claims that its prices are as much as 40% lower than those of competitors. Sales have grown more than 68% a year from £8.7m in 1999 to £41.2m in 2002, and the company is looking to expand into America and Japan.
