Hertfordshire-based forecourt operator Rontec was formed in 2011 by Gerald Ronson, 80, to acquire the assets of Total UK. It has more than 240 outlets, which include Esso, BP Texaco and Shell petrol stations as well as Spar convenience stores. In 2017, it introduced Morrisons convenience stores to its network and now has nearly 50. Recently, it sold most of its 45% stake in The Right Fuelcard Company for around £40m.
