With eight factories across Europe that produce more than 750m litres of ice cream a year, the company makes own-label products for supermarket chains such as Tesco and Asda. It also has manufacturing and distribution agreements with food giants Nestlé and Mars. Oaktree Capital delisted the group in 2006 for £182m, and since then R&R Ice Cream has made a string of acquisitions, including Kelly’s of Cornwall, bought for £14m in 2008, and Rolland, a French ice-cream maker, for which it paid £33m in 2010. Sales climbed to £384.9m last year, with profits of £30.7m, under chairman and chief executive James Lambert.
