Consisting of more than 100 companies, RSK has made 12 acquisitions in the last year, taking its headcount to 5,500 worldwide and sales to a forecast £500 million. Founded in 1989 by Alan Ryder, 59, it delivers a range of environmental, engineering consultancy and contracting services in sectors such as infrastructure and energy. It had annualised profits of £8.4 million in the year to April 2020. In January, RSK completed its largest acquisition to date: Black & Veatch’s Europe and Asia water infrastructure operations, adding 1,400 staff. Backed by American investor Ares, it is targeting a £1 billion turnover and a headcount of 10,000 by 2025.
