Aberdeen-based Saltire Energy supplies drilling tools to the global offshore oil and gas sector. It generates two thirds of sales from international markets, including the Middle East, mainland Europe and Asia Pacific. Last year, it expanded its presence in Africa and Norway through the acquisition of the rental equipment supplier OMM. Chief executive and owner Mike Loggie, 69, says the company invests £10m a year to expand its inventory. Sales have grown 50% in the last year to £33m, with operating profit rising 31% to £18.6m.
