Samworth Brothers began in 1896 when the Samworths founded a pig dealing business, and it is still owned by the family. Led by chief executive Alex Knight, 58, its range of chilled, sweet and savoury foods includes brands such as Ginsters and Soreen, which it acquired in 2014. The Leicestershire firm supplies many UK retailers with private-label products, and also makes sandwiches, salads, cooked meats, ready meals and desserts. Last year, the company acquired sports nutrition brand SCI-MX for an undisclosed sum.
