Samworth Brothers produces a range of chilled, sweet and savoury foods, including well-known brands such as Ginsters pasties and Dickinson & Morris pork pies. The company started life in 1896, when the Samworth family founded a pig-dealing business, and it is still owned by them today. Alongside its own famous names, the firm’s distribution arm makes deliveries for other producers to customers that include supermarkets, petrol stations and convenience stores. Sales in 2010 were £715m.
