Satamatics

Satellite-tracking devices designed and operated by Satamatics are used to locate ships for the fishing industry and protect troops in Afghanistan and Iraq. This year the Tewkesbury firm launched a monitoring service for refrigerated containers. It provides information on a container’s location and temperature to American trucking and rail companies. Sales have grown 65% a year from £3m in 2004 to £8.2m in 2006. Satamatics was founded by chairman Roy Cole and chief executive Peter Chisholm.
