Arsenal Football Club and the airports operator BAA are among SBJ’s portfolio of clients. This London company offers advice on how to manage pension funds, and brokers insurance through the likes of Lloyd’s, Royal & Sun Alliance and Norwich Union. Last year, the private-equity firm Capital Z acquired a 51% stake in the business, with management owning the rest. Profits grew 63% a year from £1.9m in 2000 to £8.3m in 2003.
